Occasionally, instead of administrators, we have board members investigate and order our survey instruments for their school. If you've been tasked with researching survey options, it is important for you to know that DTS surveys have, for nearly 20 years, proven themselves over and over again in many of the largest and most successful Christian schools in the US.
DTS surveys focus on decision-making needs. From the asking of questions to the deliver of the report the key to a worthwhile survey is "what decisions will be made with this information?" If you're not willing to make productive use of the answer, don't ask the question.
One day I stepped into an administrator's office and behind him on the credenza were three stacks of completed DIY surveys, each a foot tall. He said "I've got all this information, but I don't know what to do with it."
That was a turning point for our business: right there we decided that all of our survey instruments would include a professional analysis targeting the decision-making needs of the leaders who choose to use these instruments.
Because of this it is not unusual for administrators to make comments like: "this was the best money we spent this year!" (Mike L, NC), or we followed "your recommendation ...we increased tuition 9.2% for three years and raised our salaries ... increased tuition assistance ...without losing enrollment!" Tim W, CA, or "the DTS survey is the most cost-effective survey I have ever used ... a key component of our strategic planning!" Brian S, IN.
A prominent Christian School Administrator told me "A leader's task is to clearly define reality - as it is, and as it should be, and then to chart the course to take the school from 'A' to 'B'".
A DTS survey is the starting point: defining reality as it is. If you need help with the second half - creating practical, measurable initiatives, we have consultants who can facilitate that process.
With a list of clients from every state in the Union, you can move ahead with confidence, knowing that you have chosen a path that will lead you to effective and informed decision-making and initiative-building.
